There are numerous cannabinoids that you should learn about if you are just starting out in the cannabis world.
You do have the standard THC, CBD, CBN, and CBG. You probably already know about all of these cannabinoids. There are numerous additional cannabinoids, both naturally occurring and synthetic, and today we will discuss H4 CBD, one of the latter.
Today, we'll go over everything you need to know about H4-CBD, including what it is, how it works, whether it has any side effects, whether it is organic or synthetic, and much more. Let's explore what H4CBD is in detail and what to expect if you consume it.
WHO ARE H4CBD?
Hexahydrocannabidiol, or H4CBD, is another name for CBD that has been hydrogenated. CBD extract was first developed in the middle of the 20th century, but this is a synthetic version of it. This was significant only for research purposes until recently because H4CBD was not even available on the market.
However, due to their alleged advantages, H4CBD products have recently entered the market. Simply put, the production of H4-CBD involves processing CBD in a specific way, which we will discuss below. The result is a synthetic or man-made cannabinoid. So, despite the fact that H4CBD is made in a lab, it is naturally derived from CBD.
WHAT ARE H4CBD'S IMPACTS?
What exactly H4CBD does to the human mind and body is where things get really murky. Simply put, the fact that there is so little research on this topic is the main cause of this. What is understood is that, especially when compared to regular CBD, H4CBD has a significantly higher affinity for the CB1 neuroreceptors in your brain.
H4 CBD has a higher affinity for CB1 receptors than normal CBD does. In other words, your brain's CB1 receptors and H4CBD interact frequently. H4CBD is believed to be up to 100 times more potent than regular CBD in a few key ways, though more research is needed in this area.
In terms of its fundamental effects, it is believed that H4CBD is comparable to CBD in that it may be able to relieve anxious thoughts, lessen depressive thoughts, improve sleep quality, regulate mood, act as a painkiller, and lessen inflammation-related symptoms.
Again, more research is needed, but based on anecdotal evidence and the similarities between H4CBD and CBD, it would seem that H4-CBD has many of the same advantages as regular CBD.
It must be noted, though, that H4CBD might actually be an intoxicant, or else it might be psychoactive. It is believed that H4CBD will give you some of the psychoactive effects of THC as well as all the physical and psychological advantages of regular CBD.
Large doses of H4CBD have the potential to give you a mild high. After ingesting H4CBD, some users claim to experience some level of a body high and/or a head high. Many claims that this is comparable to ingesting a 2:1 dose of CBD to THC. Happiness, euphoria, slowed reaction time, sedation, hunger, and other THC-typical feelings may be experienced.
CONSIDERATIONS OF H4CBD
The potential negative effects of H4CBD are currently largely unknown because there hasn't been enough research done in this area. That said, it is safe to assume that the side effects could apply to both of those other cannabinoids because H4-CBD behaves like a combination of CBD and THC. It's reasonable to assume that you'll experience fatigue, itchy, red, and dry eyes, dry mouth, headache, nausea, and digestive upset. This hasn't been confirmed, though.
H4CBD: IS IT SYNTHETIC?
Yes, H4CBD is a synthetic cannabinoid rather than a naturally occurring one that can be found in hemp or cannabis plants. H4CBD Distillate must instead be produced synthetically or extracted from other cannabinoids found in hemp or cannabis plants.
WHEREAS IS H4CBD MADE?
Without getting too technical, hydrogen atoms are added to CBD molecules to produce H4 CBD, which is why CBD is occasionally referred to as hydrogenated CBD. Of course, this is a fairly involved scientific procedure that must be carried out in a lab. Without getting too technical, scientists modify the chemical structure of CBD by introducing hydrogen atoms.
H4CBD Vs. CBD?
Let's quickly review the key distinctions between CBD and H4CBD.
The structure of H4CBD differs from that of CBD. Four hydrogen atoms are added to the head of the CBD molecule to create H4-CBD.
Hemp contains the naturally occurring cannabinoid CBD. Although it is not a naturally occurring substance, H4CBD is a cannabinoid that is produced synthetically from CBD.
At least in a few specific ways, H4CBD is thought to be approximately 100 times more potent than regular CBD. Overall, CB1 neuroreceptors in the brain show a very high affinity for hydrogenated CBDs like H4CBD Distillate. However, even though 100 times sounds like a lot, it's actually a fairly insignificant number because being 100 times more potent only refers to the affinity with CB1 receptors. In either case, CBD does not act in this manner.
Pain, inflammation, sleep, and mood regulation are all believed to be benefits of both CBD and H4CBD.
H4-CBD is thought to be psychoactive or intoxicant, which means that it will cause you to feel a little high, though supposedly not as high as regular THC. This makes it different from regular CBD.
In contrast to 4HCBD, which is actually very difficult to locate, CBD is available almost everywhere.
ARE H4CBD AND CBD IDENTICAL?
No, CBD and H4CBD are not interchangeable. Both hemp and cannabis plants contain the naturally occurring cannabinoid CBD, whereas H4CBD cannot be produced naturally and must be made from CBD. Due to their various chemical compositions, they might have some properties and effects that are somewhat similar, but they are unquestionably not the same thing.
IS CBD HEMP SAFE?
It would seem logical to assume that H4 CBD would be relatively safe given the relative safety of THC and CBD. There haven't been any reports of H4CBD-related fatalities, serious side effects, or safety issues up to this point. However, much more research is required to determine whether H4-CBD is truly 100% safe.
IS H4CBD PERMITTED?
To be clear, it is at best debatable whether or not this specific cannabinoid is legal. Cannabinoids derived from hemp plants with less than 0.3% THC are technically legal, according to the 2018 Farm Bill in the USA.
Although it does seem that Delta-9 THC is the only cannabinoid being discussed in this law, the language is very ambiguous and unclear. The FDA recently declared that Delta-9 THC is the only substance that qualifies as cannabis under their definition.
However, the legal standing of synthetic or chemically modified cannabinoids, like H4CBD Distillate, is unclear and undefined. Therefore, one can assume that it should be legal if the H4CBD is created from CBD that comes from hemp plants with less than 0.3% THC, though this is not a given, and caution is required.
