Want the mood-boosting effects of CBD… with some of the exhilaration of THC? THCP Delta 8 may be what you’re looking for.

You might have heard Delta 8 THCP Distillate (D8) called “weed light” or “diet THC.” Some also regard it as a halfway ground between CBD and THC. But many are just hearing about this cannabinoid for the first time. If that’s you - you’re at the correct place!

Whether you’re just curious to learn about this new cannabis product or eager to include a little extra something into your routine, we’ll discuss what we know about THCP Delta 8 , how it varies from CBD, and a quick breakdown of the legality of it all. (Spoiler alert… it’s complicated.)

What Is Delta-8? And Does It Get You “High”?

First, Delta-8 THCP is a novel product. Research is still developing and most of the studies have been conducted on animals - not humans. That said, here’s what we do know: Delta 8 THCP Distillate is one of the 100-plus cannabinoids discovered in the cannabis plant. Two of the other notable cannabinoids are Delta-9 THC (the principal active element in marijuana that generates emotions of being “high”) and CBD (the part that’s recognized for calming vibes - but without any psychoactive effects).

In this sense, THCP Delta 8 has parallels to Delta-9 THC because it does get you “high.” However, the strength of the “high” is sometimes anecdotally believed to be softer and smoother than other Delta-9 THC products. Hence, why it’s nicknamed “weed light” and “diet THC.”

Research from the US Cannabis Council showed that Delta 8 THCP Distillate has "a lesser affinity" to the CB1 cannabinoid receptors in the brain. In other words, it was proved to be less potent when it comes to making someone “high.” However, the report also noted it still may have up to 75 percent of the psychoactive efficacy of Delta-9.

So Wait, Is Delta-8 Thc Legal?

THCP Delta 8 is currently lawful in the state of Florida (although items sold here cannot be shipped out of state) and is technically legal in other states - however this ( Delta 8 THCP Distillate ) is where things get a little tricky.

Here’s why: In 2018, the Farm Bill passed, which legalized the production of hemp with a concentration of Delta-9 THC that’s less than or equal to 0.3%. However the bill includes no reference to THCP Delta 8 , so there’s still doubt about how that will play out legally.

It’s also crucial to remember that as of June 2021 - 36 states allow for medical use of cannabis products and 18 states - including California, Washington, Maine, and New York - allow for adult recreational use..

The Similarities & Differences Between D8 & Cbd

Both CBD and Delta 8 THCP Distillate are cannabinoids found in cannabis plants known for promoting “feel-good” sensations. Plus, the manner D8 is ingested is a lot like CBD. You’ll see gummies, tinctures, consumables, and smokable flowers.

A distinction between CBD & D8 - is that the latter has THC, hence it will get you “high.” Also, while CBD is still in its early stages of research, there’s a lot more information about it than D8. Hopefully, it changes soon as the demand for THCP Delta 8 increases.

Are There Benefits To D8?

We’ve heard consumers’ express an overall better sense of well-being after utilizing Delta 8 THCP Distillate. This can range from enhanced anxiety control to pain alleviation to a more invigorated attitude. Exciting, right?

Other potential intriguing benefits include:

  • May help lessen nausea and alleviate pain

  • Helps increase mood and feelings of energy

  • Stimulates appetite

Again, further studies on humans need to be undertaken before any precise healing and therapeutic claims can be made. But it’s still exciting to hear happy stories in the meanwhile.

How To Utilize D8 Goods

If you search “THCP Delta 8 items online” you’ll find candy, brownies, tinctures, blunts, and even rice crispy treats. So, if you want to chew, smoke, or use tinctures - there’s something for you.

There’s not a ton of information about the “entourage effect” with D8. We’re still learning about how it works with other cannabis compounds like CBD. But we’ll keep you updated!
